Thoughts from readers around the Web…

“I thought this book was insightful. To watch a woman transform from a career-driven wife and mother to a family-oriented wife and mother was rewarding…. I recommend this to all wives but especially those who feel that they are inadequate.”

“I thoroughly enjoyed reading about Sara’s climb to the top- her ambitions and desires- as well as her struggle to be more like the Proverbs 31 woman….as you read the book, you should totally be able to see the growth that Sara has during this time. A lot happens in her life and she relates it all with humor and candidness.”
“In this book, Sara Horn documents her personal year-long account of embracing the vision of being a Proverbs 31 woman in today’s society. The result will inspire you. I often laughed as I read her daily accounts, as only another mom and wife could. “My So-Called Life As a Proverbs 31 Wife” is a reminder, based on one woman sharing her life to smile, to seek peace and to share love.”
“I recommend this book for those who want another perspective on the Proverbs 31 Woman or for those who think that she’s too old fashioned to apply to their lifestyle…..I appreciated her light-hearted, yet very thought provoking, and personal look at this unnamed woman and how we can learn from her even in today’s culture.”

“…I know for myself, I sometimes feel guilty because I think there is no way I can do everything [The Proverbs 31 Wife] does. But during the last few years, and now since reading My So-Called Life As a Proverbs 31 Wife, I know I don’t have to be. I just need to be willing to try. God does not want me perfect. He just wants me to be willing to try….As you read this book, you will be reminded through humor and thought provoking moments that a fear of the Lord, a gentle spirit, patience, and generally, all the fruits of the spirit are traits that we as women after God’s own heart should possess.”
“With hilarity, honesty and a hint of sarcasm, Sara proves that the Proverbs 31 Woman isn’t all she’s proclaimed to be. If you’re like me and sick of trying to be something we’re not…then this book is absolutely perfect for you! “

“Sara Horn is a real person. Usually when I read books about the Proverbs 31 Wife or another type of biblically based womanhood, I come away feeling deflated and defeated. Okay, I often feel that way just looking at the cover! Anyway, My So-Called Life as a Proverbs 31 Wife is for all of us real women with real lives out there. If Sara has a sink full of dirty dishes and uses frozen meals as a base for her dinners, there’s hope for me, too. Or maybe being a Proverbs 31 wife isn’t about clean dishes and totally-from-scratch meals….I’ve been inspired to rethink the whole ideal wife thing, and so will you.”
This book was engaging and fun to read. The author took a year to develop each of the virtues of the Proverbs 31 wife. While they all didn’t go exactly the way she had planned, she had a year of some deep thought and very funny outcomes that you don’t want to miss. Learning to hear God is sometimes the hardest thing for a Christian to do, but Mrs. Horn has shown us that it can be done….If you are not Martha (Proverbs 31 woman or Stewart) pick up this book for a realistic look into another not Martha. I really liked the book and it was a fun quick read and showed that I may be imperfect but God is willing to work with me.
